MA/MS in Physical Therapy (MPT)

The Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) is a two-year, full-time, course-based professional program completed over six consecutive terms, combining 60 weeks of classroom and laboratory instruction with 30 weeks of clinical placement experience. Graduates are trained as entry-level physical therapists. Applicants require a four-year bachelor's degree (a minimum of four academic years) with high academic standing from a recognized university. Six prerequisite courses must be completed within seven years of the application deadline with a minimum grade of 70% (or B-) in each: human/mammalian/vertebrate physiology, human anatomy, a science course in biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy, biomechanics or exercise physiology, statistics or research methods, a social science or liberal arts course, and a Canadian Indigenous history course or certificate. Applicants must also document volunteer or paid experience demonstrating involvement in and leadership toward the well-being of individuals, groups or society. Applications are due in early January, with acceptance notifications issued in mid-May.
