International Education Studies (BA)

This Bachelor of Arts in International Education Studies is a four-year interdisciplinary undergraduate degree combining coursework from Wilfrid Laurier University's Faculty of Education and Faculty of Arts, delivered in person with a September intake. The curriculum builds global awareness and intercultural skills through the study of educational philosophies and teaching approaches, alongside global issues such as climate change and inequality, paired with local educational placements in second year and an intensive international placement between third and fourth year. Students can pursue TEFL certification and take part in Laurier Students for Learning. The program can lead into a Bachelor of Education and a teaching career in Canada or abroad. Graduates pursue careers in teaching, including ESL and international schools, as well as international development, human rights, and NGO work.
