This four-year Bachelor of Arts in Spanish is completed in combination with a second BA subject at Wilfrid Laurier University, delivered in person on the Waterloo campus with September and January intakes. The program develops Spanish language skills, multilingual communication, and cross-cultural awareness through courses in Spanish literature, Spanish-language cinema, phonetics and phonology, and the intellectual history of Spain and Latin America. Students pair Spanish with a second BA subject such as Anthropology, French, Global Studies, Communication Studies, Political Science, or Women and Gender Studies. A Business Spanish Certificate is available through a partnership with the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, alongside a study-abroad option in Spain and a Community Service-Learning component built into coursework. An accelerated three-year completion option and a direct-entry Management Minor are also offered. Graduates pursue roles as interpreters, translators, educators, communications specialists, bilingual officers, and policy analysts, or continue into further study in language, education, or international fields.
