This program leads to a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biochemistry, offered by the Faculty of Science at the Keele Campus on a full-time or part-time basis, with entry available in fall, winter and summer for first-year and upper-year students. Biochemistry examines the chemistry of life, including the structure and properties of biological molecules and the relationship between their chemical structure and function in living systems. Students gain hands-on laboratory training from first year in a dedicated Biochemistry Lab, and can engage with the Centre for Research on Biomolecular Interactions, which supports more than 70 professors, researchers and graduate and undergraduate students. Applied learning opportunities include co-op placements, internships and capstone projects. The program suits students interested in molecular-level life science who want early laboratory experience alongside coursework preparing them for research, health-science or further graduate study.
