Overview

This Bachelor of Arts programme in Communications is offered bilingually at York University's Glendon Campus, examining storytelling, media and human connection across French and English contexts. Students study how ideas circulate through society, how organizations build trust through communication, and how digital technology is transforming communication practice. The curriculum combines hands-on projects with critical analysis to build creativity, strategic thinking and communication skills applicable to careers in media, marketing and public relations. Full-time and part-time study options are available. The programme is delivered on campus and admits students in the Fall and Winter terms. Graduates are prepared for roles across media, marketing, communications and public relations sectors, with the bilingual format supporting careers requiring both English and French communication skills.

Admission Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) applicants need ENG4U or FRA4U plus five additional Grade 12 U or M courses, with an admission average in the low-to-mid 70s; a final average of at least 70% is required to maintain the offer. Other Canadian provinces have equivalent senior-course requirements at the same average level. International applicants are assessed against requirements for their specific credential (e.g. IB, GCE, Baccalaureat), with course and grade equivalents specified for each system.
