Cert in Technical & Professional Communication

York University's Technical & Professional Communication certificate prepares students to translate scientific and technical information into clear, accessible language. Coursework covers writing scientific and technical reports, operating and maintenance manuals, catalogues, assembly instructions, sales promotion materials and project proposals. The certificate takes two years of part-time study to complete, with all courses offered in the evening; the evening schedule is designed so that students can continue to work or study elsewhere during the day while completing the certificate. It begins in the Fall term and is open to current York students, to new applicants to York who already hold a university degree in a related discipline, and to new applicants with recent work experience in an administrative or technical field that requires writing.
