Overview

French Studies is a Bachelor of Arts (BA), with an International BA (iBA) option, offered by the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies at the Keele campus. Students study French language, literature and linguistics, developing spoken and written communication skills for personal and professional settings while exploring francophone cultures in Canada and internationally; courses are taught in French. Class sizes are small and interactive. The program offers co-op placement opportunities in bilingual workplaces, a combination offered by few Ontario universities in this field. Both full-time and part-time study are available, with entry offered in the Fall, Winter and Summer terms for first-year and upper-year students. The program suits students seeking advanced bilingual competence for careers or further study requiring French-language proficiency.
