French Studies at York University's Glendon campus is a Bachelor of Arts (BA) delivered in a bilingual (English/French) academic environment. Students develop advanced French-language skills while studying Francophone language, literature, culture and communication, and build the intercultural competencies needed to work and study across French- and English-speaking communities. Coursework draws on Glendon's bilingual campus setting to combine language training with cultural and linguistic analysis. Both full-time and part-time study are available. The program suits students seeking to strengthen an existing bilingual foundation or deepen French proficiency for careers, graduate study or further work in Francophone communities in Canada and abroad, whether for future employment, graduate study or continued language training. Entry is available in the Fall and Winter terms for first-year and upper-year students, with no Summer intake.
