— it helps other students.
This program leads to a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Philosophy, offered full-time or part-time at the Keele Campus, with entry in Fall, Winter or Summer for both first-year and upper-year students. Students develop skills in argumentation, analytical reasoning and creative problem-solving while studying Western, East Asian, African and Islamic philosophical traditions, examining questions of freedom, happiness and justice through historical and contemporary texts. The curriculum emphasizes discussion-based learning and close reading of primary philosophical works rather than a single fixed methodology. Graduates pursue careers in law, education, human rights advocacy, diplomacy, public administration and medical ethics, among other fields. The program suits students who want a broad grounding in critical thinking and argument construction applicable across many professional paths rather than training for one specific occupation.
