Overview
The Anti-Racist Research & Practice Certificate focuses on identifying and challenging systemic and institutional racism across sectors including the workplace, education, health care, immigration, law enforcement, media, and the expressive arts. Students develop skills in policy assessment and program planning, research design and implementation, and critical and analytical thinking applied to questions of race and power. The program is linked to the Diaspora, Islam and Gender research initiative and the annual Women's Voices from the Middle East symposium, both hosted by the Department of Equity Studies. It is a cross-disciplinary certificate offered full-time or part-time, with Fall, Winter, and Summer start terms, available through concurrent, consecutive, or direct-entry study, and administered by the Department of Equity Studies. It suits students pursuing careers or further study in social policy, community organizing, or equity-focused research.
