The Graduate Diploma in European Studies lets graduate students at York University develop expertise in the interdisciplinary field of German and European Studies alongside their primary degree. Students exchange ideas with faculty and peers across the humanities, social sciences and professional faculties, and receive mentoring in research and professional skills. The program includes opportunities for hands-on experience in Europe and for presenting work at academic conferences. It is designed to complement a student's existing graduate program rather than stand alone as a full credential, adding a documented interdisciplinary specialization in German and European Studies to the transcript. York offers this diploma to students already registered in a range of participating graduate programs, as well as through direct, stand-alone application. The diploma is administered by York's Centre for European Studies and records a documented interdisciplinary specialization on the transcript rather than constituting a degree in its own right.
