The Graduate Diploma in Law for Law Enforcement Professionals is the only program of its kind in Canada. Designed and co-taught by law enforcement professionals, it focuses on the substantive law issues confronting policing professionals in their day-to-day work, in contrast to legal procedural issues. This flexible, part-time program is delivered in small group seminars over a two-year period and is designed to meet the needs of professionals working across the sector. There is one two-day in-person requirement at the outset of the program, covering policing and the Charter. The remainder of the program's courses are evening courses that students can attend in person or remotely via video conferencing. As with York's other graduate diplomas, it can be completed concurrently with an eligible graduate program, or on its own as a stand-alone, direct-entry diploma with applications submitted online.
