The PhD in Law is offered by York University's Osgoode Hall Law School, one of Canada's oldest law schools. The program involves extensive, research-intensive study and is intended for students pursuing an academic career. An LLM is normally required for admission; applicants without one may first apply to the Research LLM and advance to the PhD after their first year of study.
