Program details

Overview

Yukon University's Bachelor of Business Administration is offered as a four-year degree, with two-year diploma and one- or two-year certificate options along the same pathway, delivered in a blended format primarily from the Whitehorse (Ayamdigut) campus with some courses available online, in Dawson City, and through the community campus network. The curriculum covers core business areas such as accounting, finance, economics, marketing, human resources, and business law, taught from a de-colonial perspective that integrates Yukon First Nations content, and students must demonstrate core competency in Yukon First Nations knowledge. Rather than a conventional co-op placement, the degree culminates in a capstone experience in which student teams apply their business knowledge to a real issue facing a northern community or organization. The program suits students interested in business education grounded in the northern and Indigenous context of the Yukon. Graduates are prepared for business roles across the territory and beyond, with an emphasis on building prosperity in northern and remote communities.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires Grade 12 graduation with English 12 at a minimum of 65% and Math 11, either Foundations or Pre-Calculus. Applicants who have not completed these prerequisites may take individual courses but must formally apply and satisfy the entrance requirements before graduating with a Certificate, Diploma or the Bachelor of Business Administration. The programme page does not publish its own language-test table; Yukon University's general admission requirements set the standard for degree and diploma programmes at IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 87 with no section below 20, Duolingo English Test 120, or PTE Academic 59. All students must also complete the Yukon First Nations Core Competency requirement before graduation. Intake is offered in September or January.

Application Details

Start Date: September or January
Application Deadline: Yukon University's Canadian and permanent-resident applicants face no fixed intake-wide closing date: Fall 2026 applications are now closed, and applications for Winter (January) 2027 and Fall (September) 2027 open on 1 October 2026, staying open on a rolling basis until each intake fills. International applicants follow a firmer published 2027 cycle with set open and close dates: Winter 2027 runs 2 February 2026 to 3 August 2026 (deferral deadline 7 December 2026), Spring 2027 runs 3 August 2026 to 1 December 2026 (deferral 1 April 2027), and Fall 2027 runs 1 October 2026 to 1 April 2027 (deferral 1 August 2027). A few limited-entry programs, including Practical Nurse, Bachelor of Social Work and YNTEP, set their own single annual deadline instead of following this general cycle; all other programs admit on a rolling basis. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
