This two-year Aviation Management diploma at Yukon University combines pilot training with business coursework, based at the Whitehorse (Ayamdigut) campus with flight training arranged through Alkan Air Flight School. Flight training progresses from a Private Pilot License, requiring a minimum of 45 flight hours, to a Commercial Pilot License requiring 200 or more total flight hours, with ground school held in the evening and flight training conducted during daylight hours across the calendar year. Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires Grade 12 academic graduation with English 12 at a minimum of 65% and Math 11, either Foundations or Pre-Calculus. Applicants whose first language is not English and who are not Canadian citizens must present an acceptable TOEFL or IELTS score; Yukon University's published diploma-level standard is IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 87 with no section below 20, with Duolingo 120 or PTE Academic 59 also accepted. Students without the required prerequisites can enter the Access Pathways to Business Administration to complete the missing courses before applying to the diploma. All students must also pass a Category 1 aviation medical examination. Part-time students may take individual courses without formal admission but must apply and satisfy the entrance requirements before graduating. Intake is offered in September or January.
