Computing hardware, communication technology and embedded devices form the subject matter here, viewed from architecture through design, realisation, evaluation and day-to-day operation. The curriculum leans toward hardware and the software closest to it. Depending on what a system demands, functions can be implemented as programs on standard computers, as dedicated digital circuits, or as a blend of both.
The degree takes four semesters and 120 ECTS credits. Lectures run in English and German, and students may begin in either the winter or the summer semester. Teaching is located in Aachen.
Applicants must hold a first recognised university degree providing the background required by the examination regulations, and must document their skills in both teaching languages at enrollment.
