BA/BS in Deutsch

The teaching bachelor in German centres on modern German literary studies, medieval German studies, German linguistics and the didactics of German as a school subject. Literature in German is studied for its literary, cultural-historical and media dimensions from early medieval beginnings to today, and the language itself is followed from early stages to the present. Didactics modules cover concepts for planning German lessons and discuss subject skills, methods and working techniques. For grammar and comprehensive schools, students take two subjects, so German is combined with a second subject and educational sciences. A Master of Education and practical teacher training must follow for public school teaching. Other fields include education, publishing, cultural institutions, media and international administration. Teaching is in German.
