PhD in Juridiskā zinātne

This full-time doctoral programme in legal science is run by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Daugavpils University. It takes three years and leads to the degree of Doctor of Science (Ph.D.) in social sciences. Its purpose is to prepare highly qualified specialists in legal science who can formulate and independently address the key problems of modern law. Admission is open to holders of a master's degree in law, police law, criminalistics or operational activity. Applicants submit a paper on their proposed research topic and discuss it with the selection panel, and they must also pass a test in a foreign language, which can be English, German or French. The degree is a research qualification in the field of law.
