The programme builds competences in analysing and designing chemical engineering products and processes according to principles of safety, efficiency and sustainability, drawing on natural sciences, mathematics, engineering, business and the humanities as applied across the chemical industry. Core subjects move from inorganic, organic and physical chemistry and engineering graphics through mass and heat balance calculations, process modelling, chemical thermodynamics and chemical engineering design, concluding with a project practicum, professional internship and bachelor's final project. Students may specialise in areas such as biopolymers, petroleum chemistry and refining, plastics and elastomers, ceramic or glass technology, paper production, corrosion protection, or textile chemistry, with further electives in engineering economics, technology entrepreneurship and enterprise management. Graduates are described as suited to employment in production companies that apply and develop new technologies, in engineering organisations, or as expert consultants, with the option to continue to master's study.
