The programme trains environmental engineering specialists focused on water engineering, aiming to give them the ability to analyse natural processes, assess environmental quality and address the sustainable use and protection of water resources. Coursework spans subjects such as hydrology, hydraulics, hydrogeology, geomatics, GIS and remote sensing, building information modelling, and climate change impacts, alongside drinking water treatment, sewerage and wastewater treatment, aquatic ecology and the rehabilitation of water bodies. Data science, artificial intelligence, Python programming and the Internet of Things are included alongside more traditional engineering subjects such as physics, mathematics and theoretical mechanics. Fieldwork and practice placements run alongside classroom teaching, and study culminates in a final work in environmental engineering.
