This programme of a year and a half trains specialists in human geography oriented toward the knowledge economy, the development problems of Lithuanian society and the economy, and the application of sustainability principles to spatial problems using geoinformation systems across the Baltic Sea region and EU countries. Core subjects include health geography, qualitative research methods in human geography, the geography of recreation and tourism, the geography of the European Union and of the maritime economy, preparation of regional development projects, spatial statistics, and the theory and methodology of human geography, finishing with a thesis, with electives in urbanisation and urban geography or GIS modelling of societal and environmental processes.
