BA/BS in Archeology and History

The programme prepares archaeologists and historians with the fundamental knowledge to assess, conserve, research and promote archaeological and historical heritage, aimed at work in education, science and culture institutions as well as non-governmental organisations and private business. Coursework moves from introductory archaeology and history through prehistoric and classical periods, the Viking Age, medieval archaeology and the history of Europe and Lithuania across several centuries, alongside subjects such as artefact studies, digital research methods, underwater research methods, industrial archaeology, heritage conservation and museology. Students also study academic and professional ethics, historical cartography, philosophy, logic, sociology and a foreign language, complete archaeological field and archival practice, and submit course papers before a two-part bachelor's thesis.
