Overview
This two-year, blended-delivery programme prepares social-work specialists in children's rights able to implement and develop innovative strategies for the protection of children's rights and welfare across state, non-governmental and private structures in national and European contexts. Subjects are weighted toward the implementation and protection of children's rights, including child and family counselling and mediation, juvenile justice, theories and models of child abuse, legal representation of the child, and strategies for implementing the rights of the child, alongside a smaller share on theoretical models and management of social work and a social-research methodology component, finishing with a master's thesis. Students build the ability to coordinate assistance to a child and their family or school, apply national and international mechanisms for enforcing children's rights, represent a child's best interests in family, institutional and court settings, and develop new forms of social support as circumstances change, preparing graduates for roles across governmental, municipal and non-governmental child-protection institutions or academic careers.
