Overview
This 1-year LL.M. programme, the only one of its kind in Lithuania, trains health care professionals in the legal responsibility of healthcare institutions, the protection of human rights in health, the legal basis for managing data and data security, public health law, and biotechnology. The 60-credit programme is aimed at practitioners already working in the health system, with an elective choice between pharmaceutical law and public procurement law.
Learning outcomes include selecting, analysing, and critically evaluating legal information for specific health-law situations, tracking developments in the healthcare system and assessing them from a legal and ethical perspective, and providing ethically grounded solutions that integrate private, public, international, and EU law with national and international court practice. Students also learn to clearly convey expert legal conclusions to audiences of lawyers, biomedicine specialists, and policymakers, and to formulate decisions that regulate and improve legal relationships in health care and biomedicine.
