This two-year, blended-delivery programme prepares social workers able to conduct scientific research, critically analyse social issues, foresee the risks of uncertain situations, and apply and develop innovative strategies to reduce social exclusion and empower individuals, groups and communities. Compulsory subjects cover the methodology of social research, theoretical models of social work, strategies for social-services provision and management, social security law, and EU social policy, strategies of sociocultural work with different youth groups, and the development and evaluation of social projects, finished with a thesis, with optional specialisation in community social work, work in migration offices, or work in the probation system, each adding its own practice placement. Students build the ability to carry out quantitative and qualitative studies of social change, mobilise individual, family and community resources to address problems, build professional teams, and propose amendments to legislation and service quality, preparing graduates for roles in municipalities and children's protection services or academic careers.
