BA/BS in Fashion Design

The programme prepares fashion design specialists who account for current trends and market demands, with knowledge of visual-expression principles, style elements, clothing design and sustainability, and able to apply theoretical and technological knowledge to create fashion design products while managing the creative process both nationally and internationally. Coursework spans fashion design, construction and sewing technology, drawing human anatomy, costumelogy, accessories design and production, textile and pattern-cutting principles, make-up basics, and the history and psychology of fashion, alongside intellectual property law and business management basics. Students progress through experimental fabric, fashion and construction projects, a creative project practicum and pre-diploma practice before completing a final project, developing skills in selecting fabrics, accessories and sewing techniques and in organising collection presentations for a professional and public audience. The programme also builds entrepreneurial skills and the ability to communicate and collaborate with colleagues, business partners and clients in a multicultural context.
