This two-year programme trains psychologists with thorough grounding in child development, educational psychology and general psychology, aiming to deliver evidence-based assessment, intervention, prevention and mental-health promotion services for children, adolescents, their families, schools and other child-welfare institutions. Compulsory subjects include how psychopathology and psychological development manifest in children, health promotion and prevention, advanced statistics and research methodology, advanced educational psychology, teaching and learning, child psychological counselling, and the assessment of the child's cognitive abilities and development, finished with a research project and thesis and a two-semester professional practice placement, with electives such as positive psychology, family and school counselling, human neuropsychology, and career development and counselling. It builds skills in identifying and assessing children's cognitive and psychosocial development, planning and evaluating evidence-based intervention programmes, and communicating findings to children, parents, teachers and other professionals, with the practice placement coordinated alongside the university's own studies.
