MA/MS in Arts Therapy

This master's programme is the only one in Lithuania preparing specialists across all four arts-therapy modalities, letting students specialise in art therapy, drama therapy, music therapy, or dance-movement therapy for application in personal health and well-being. The 95-credit study field includes a 30-credit master's thesis, 10 credits of doctoral preparation, and 10 credits of practice, delivered jointly with the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Students learn the means of artistic expression specific to their chosen specialisation, including stylistic and genre possibilities, and develop skills to plan and implement therapy programmes, evaluate changes in a client's health during ongoing treatment, and communicate with clients to determine their need for services. The programme also builds research competencies in the chosen modality, conducted according to ethical and legal principles, and prepares graduates to work as art, drama, music, or dance-movement therapists in mental health centres and related institutions.
