This six-year programme prepares medical doctors with knowledge of the sciences underlying medicine, an understanding of the structure and behaviour of the human body in health and illness, and sufficient grounding in clinical disciplines and practice. Graduates can take and record a detailed medical history, perform physical examinations and mental-status assessments, interpret case history and test results, and use them to reach a preliminary diagnosis and plan testing and treatment, alongside basic and advanced resuscitation and other core clinical procedures. Theoretical knowledge is built through lectures, seminars, and analysis of authentic clinical cases, while hands-on skills take shape in simulation classrooms and through supervised placements at the university's clinical facilities, with internships allowing early contact with patients. The 360-credit programme devotes just over half its courses to clinical training and about a third to biomedical sciences, with some teaching delivered through other university faculties such as chemistry and physics. Graduates with only the bachelor's qualification can work in pharmaceutical or medical-equipment roles, while independent clinical practice and progression to residency require further study.
