Overview
Over four years and 240 credits, including 55 credits of clinical practice, the programme develops skills to preserve, improve, or restore a person's physical and functional movement capacity. Biomedical subjects such as functional anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics of movement, and exercise physiology and motor control sit alongside physiotherapy applied to internal medicine and neurology, plus social science and humanities courses in psychology, communication, ethics, and a foreign language. Teaching follows a problem-based approach using case studies, role play, simulations, literature analysis, and a practice diary, with examinations graded on a one-to-ten scale as the main form of assessment. Learning outcomes include collecting and analysing patient information to reach a physiotherapy diagnosis, predicting the likely short- and long-term effects of treatment, developing and critically adjusting an intervention plan, and advising patients on physical activity for disease prevention. Clinical placements run through a university hospital rehabilitation centre, and graduates can continue to master's-level study.
