This English-taught master's programme prepares systems-biology analysts and laboratory specialists to grasp how fundamental biological systems work, mathematically model how evolutionary biological systems change over time, and lead research projects. Core modules include genomics data mining, mathematical modelling, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, neurobiology, and mathematical physiology, taught in intensive cycles alongside recurring science-forum seminars where students critically assess recent research articles.
Students build bioengineering foundations in genetic and biological engineering, computational principles for large systems, and the use of multiprocessor computing environments to program biological data, along with current diagnostic methods applicable to medicine and biotechnology. The fourth semester is devoted to preparing and defending a master's thesis. Graduates can work in universities, health care institutions, and research institutes, or in biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, with the option to pursue PhD study.
