Overview

This three-year degree prepares students for social intervention work, combining social pedagogy and social work. It examines how individuals, society and institutions interact and introduces students to core theories, research methods and intervention approaches, with theory regularly linked to professional practice. Students can orient their studies toward areas that interest them, with examples given such as disability and non-discrimination, migration, and interculturality and diversity. Teaching uses German, French and English, and applicants need strong German and French. In Luxembourg the degree gives access to the regulated profession of social worker, and it also prepares graduates for management roles in social or educational institutions or for Master's study leading toward research and teaching. Selection involves a written application followed by an interview based on texts sent to shortlisted candidates. The 2026-27 programme list also mentions a separate continuing-education curriculum with its own programme fee.
