MA/MS in Philosophy of Science, Technology & Society

This master's examines the role of technology in society through topics such as the governance of autonomous robots, the privacy implications of tracking technologies, and the ethical use of AI in applications like crime detection. Students explore philosophical questions connecting technology, human nature, and ethics, weighing up what new technologies gain and risk as they change the way governments and businesses function. The programme allows for a combined degree spanning Public Administration or Business Administration, or for choosing a specialisation from three tracks — 4TU Ethics, AI, or Sustainability. Graduates typically find roles as researchers, advisers to government, concept developers, or consultants in innovation.
