BA/BS in Media and Culture

This bachelor's programme examines the rapidly changing global media landscape, training students to position themselves critically within it and to prepare for careers in media, cultural institutions or academia. It covers the theory and history of cross-media culture, television and film, exploring how particular media take on different roles across cultural contexts and how they direct attention and shape people's experience of the world. A central theme is how stories or facts are presented and circulated by media, whose interests this serves, and what kind of world such coverage creates; students also learn how media objects are made, and begin creating and using them themselves. It suits students with cultural and creative interests who want to research, advise or supervise media makers, or work in media research, the creative industry, cultural organisations or academia.
