The three-year bachelor programme in animation is an arts-based education. Students learn the basic principles and traditional techniques of animation and have room to experiment with chosen techniques. Studies include the history of animated film and an analytical, theoretical and historical understanding of the field, with attention to aesthetic and ethical questions. Student productions form much of the practical work, with individual supervision throughout.
Graduates qualify for professional work on animated short films and on animation in news, information, advertising and entertainment. The degree gives a basis for admission to the Master in media practices at the same college and to relevant master programmes in Norway and abroad. Exchange placements at partner institutions are available.
