The one-year English programme introduces the academic disciplines of English studies: language, literature and culture. Students build a solid grasp of grammar, vocabulary, phonetics and varieties of English, and practise using the language in writing and speaking. Teaching is online through a learning platform, with weekly lessons, discussion forums and some live seminars. Full-time study takes one year and part-time study takes two.
The programme qualifies for further study in English at advanced level and can be credited toward the bachelor degree in language and literature at the same college. Graduates are prepared for roles in schools, translation, museums, libraries, publishing and journalism that require strong English skills.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: General upper-secondary entrance qualification and at least grade 4 in the common subject English (fellesfag engelsk). Alternatively English specialisation at upper-secondary level, or at least 15 credits of English in higher education.
