BA/BS in Barnehagelærer

The bachelor programme in early childhood teacher education prepares students to work in kindergarten, with care, play, learning and formation at the core. Students develop knowledge and skills for the role of pedagogical leader and manager in kindergarten, with emphasis on cooperation with families and other child-rearing agencies, and on inclusive practice. The programme is studied part-time. Graduates qualify as pedagogical leaders and managers in kindergartens, and also for work in residential child care, after-school programmes and public administration. Completing 60 credits of further study in subjects for teaching in primary school, or 60 credits in special education, also qualifies for teaching in years 1 to 4. The degree gives a basis for master programmes at the college.
