Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering

The Electrical and Computer Engineering diploma was set up in 2005 to meet demand for technically skilled professionals. It offers students from a range of regions a practical route into electrical and computer engineering through Dhofar University. The curriculum introduces the principles behind communication technologies, computer systems, electronics and electrical circuits. Key subject areas are circuit theory, computer programming, microprocessors and digital electronics, taught through a mixture of lectures, laboratory work and practical sessions. Training oriented to industry strengthens employability alongside technical skills. Graduates can take entry-level positions in networking, computer hardware, technical services, power systems support and electrical maintenance. The diploma also serves as a pathway into further study of electrical engineering, electronics or computing. The programme periodically reconsiders its courses and teaching, and takes in stakeholder feedback, so that it stays consistent with what employers and accreditors expect.
