Bachelor of Arts in English Language

Dhofar University's Bachelor of Arts in English Language runs for four years and 120 credit hours, and is offered by the Department of Languages and Translation. It aims to build advanced command of English and a sound grounding in English literature, with practicum work that places students in situations where the language is used for real tasks. Graduates are expected to communicate clearly, read moderately complex written English, and recognise how culture shapes language, along with the basics of linguistics and literature. The programme also develops stronger reading skills and both critical and lateral thinking. The curriculum begins with ten university courses totalling 30 credit hours, which include Arabic academic writing. A downloadable study plan sets out the full sequence. Graduation requires a minimum overall average of 65 percent and 70 percent across major courses.
