Overview
The Architectural Engineering programme at Dhofar University was established in 2005 in response to demand for qualified professionals in this field across industry, government and service organisations. It also opens access to engineering education for learners from many cities and regions.
The curriculum builds a base in designing, analysing and applying architectural systems. Subjects include digital modelling, building services, construction materials, environmental control and structural systems for buildings, taught through laboratories, projects and industry-oriented training. Students gain professional experience through internships with consulting firms and construction organisations, which include an eight-week field placement.
The programme is tied to present industry and societal needs, supporting sustainable construction, building information modelling and green building technologies. Graduates are prepared for roles such as construction project manager, building performance analyst, systems integrator or design coordinator, or for research and further education. The programme reviews its curriculum and assessment regularly against professional standards and accreditation policies.
