Bachelor of Engineering in Bioengineering

This four-year engineering degree in bioengineering is offered by NTU's chemistry, chemical engineering and biotechnology school and leads to direct honours. It draws on engineering and life science and treats entrepreneurship as a core component, an approach the school describes as different from that of other universities. Bioengineering applies engineering principles to problems in biology and medicine. Regulatory affairs are introduced from year one, giving students an early view of commercialisation, and hospital attachments let them work alongside clinicians to understand how medical devices are used and how patients are cared for. Graduates commonly work in manufacturing, including pharmaceutical production, medical instruments and healthcare supplies, as well as in hospitals, government agencies such as the Health Sciences Authority and research organisations including A*Star.
