Master of Science in Power Engineering

This master's degree is offered by NTU's electrical and electronic engineering school for electrical engineering graduates who work as practising engineers, research and development managers, planners or designers of power systems. It gives a thorough grounding in power electronics and drives, power quality, and power system modelling, planning, operation and control. Students choose between coursework only and coursework combined with a dissertation. Each course is worth 3 Academic Units and includes 39 hours of lectures, while the dissertation option adds a 6 AU project and suits those keen on further research. The structure may change without prior notice. Study is possible on a full-time or part-time basis. Part-time candidates need their employer's permission, most classes are held in the evenings, and part-time candidature runs from a minimum of 2 years to a maximum of 4. Semester 1 runs from August to December and Semester 2 from January to May.
