Master of Science in Applied Finance

SMU's MSc in Applied Finance covers how financial markets function, both at home and abroad, along with the practices and operations behind them. Students apply what they learn to practical situations, including through internships drawn from a pool of over 3,000 firms around the world. Students pick one of four tracks, covering fintech, fund management, property and sustainable finance. The full-time route takes 18 months, described on the page as 12 months of study plus an internship, and the part-time route takes 24 months. Fresh graduates are welcome. Applicants need a bachelor's degree and a GMAT, GRE or SMU Admissions Test result, plus TOEFL or IELTS where undergraduate teaching was not in English. Applications are open from September 2026 to May 2027, and the cohort profile shows 13 nationalities.
