Diploma in Media, Arts & Design (Visual Communication & Motion Design)

This specialisation of the media, arts and design diploma focuses on applying creative design to produce solutions that look good and work well. Students combine art and technology to make graphics, animations and videos that communicate ideas and solve real problems through design thinking. The course builds a base in motion design and visual design and encourages students to find their own voice as designers, guided by purpose and a sense of aesthetics. Students push creative and technical limits across design, filmmaking, photography and advertising. Graduates can apply these skills in graphics, animation and video work. Modules include storytelling and the principles of design, which covers photography, digital imaging and illustration exercises, visual hierarchy, colour theory and typography. Elective modules can be grouped into one of six minors.
