Diploma in Common Engineering Programme

The Common Engineering Programme lets students look at several engineering fields before choosing a diploma. In the first year, students carry out hands-on projects with advanced technology and visit the laboratories and facilities of all seven engineering diplomas, an opportunity open only to students in this programme. At the close of the first semester, students choose a diploma from either Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering or Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The curriculum introduces a mix of subjects across disciplines and builds analytical thinking, creativity and problem solving for working with complex systems. Hands-on project experience makes it easier for students to decide on a career path. Elective modules can be grouped into one of six minors, including Asia Readiness, Business Management and Entrepreneurship.
