Overview

Law with Business brings together legal theory and practical legal skills viewed through a commercial lens, widening career options beyond the traditional legal profession. Corporate law, entrepreneurship and consultancy all rely on both legal expertise and business insight. Learning is practice-led, so students are prepared for professional life from early in the course. Negotiation, client interviewing and mooting are taught alongside transferable abilities such as public speaking. In the final year, students can take up work experience in the university's pro bono legal clinic, dealing with genuine matters for actual clients. An optional placement year is available as well, offering a further route into professional practice.
