The Information Technology program builds practical skills for many technology careers. Students learn core IT concepts, current best practices and emerging tools, with lab activities spanning coding, networks, security, data management and building websites. Completing a certificate of achievement can lead to a beginning technology position or a move to a university to work toward a bachelor's degree. Support technicians, who assist users with computers and resolve technical problems, are one example of the roles it prepares for. Other jobs mentioned include database administrator. The program is part of the STEM pathway, uses the COMP course prefix, and offers advising through the career and technical education office.
