AA/AS in Computer Science

The Computer Science program is aimed at students who intend to transfer to a California State University campus and complete a four-year degree in the subject. Early coursework introduces coding, how data is organized, algorithm design and building software. Students also work on hands-on projects and laboratory assignments to develop practical ability. The transfer degree assures a place in the CSU system at junior level, with priority for the local campus in a similar program. Certificates of achievement and job skills certificates are listed alongside it. Graduates may pursue entry-level technology jobs. The program is part of the STEM pathway and is administered through the Engineering and Information Technology department, using the COMP course prefix.
