MA/MS in Computer Engineering

This Boston University degree aims to equip graduates for technically demanding positions in industry and for later doctoral or related study. Students go deep in one specialty, such as computer hardware and architecture, networking and communications, or software, and take advanced electrical and computer engineering courses. The program leaves room for elective graduate courses chosen to fit professional or technical interests. A practicum is required, and it may take the form of a thesis, a project, or a pair of project-heavy courses. Admission standards, covering test scores, undergraduate grades and preparation, mirror those of the professional master's program in the same field. The College of Engineering has ceased admitting people to this degree. It can only be earned by enrolled PhD candidates in computer engineering along their path to the doctorate, so the rules here serve those continuing students.
