MA/MS in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering

Graduates of this Boston University master's degree are meant to be ready for demanding technical roles and for continued study. Students pick a focus area such as signal processing and communications, controls and systems, photonics and electromagnetics, or devices, circuits and materials, and complete advanced electrical and computer engineering courses. Electives are chosen freely from graduate offerings so students can follow technical or professional interests in engineering. The practicum can be fulfilled with a thesis, a project, or two courses built around projects. The College of Engineering has stopped taking applicants for this degree directly. It is awarded only to doctoral candidates in electrical engineering as a milestone on the way to their PhD, and the requirements described on the page speak to those students who are still continuing.
